HVAC Cleaning

HVAC refers to the Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning system. An important part of facility maintenance, HVAC cleaning makes a significant difference in energy efficiency and air quality. Action Duct has provided industrial HVAC cleaning services for thousands of clients, including hospitals, restaurants, office buildings, schools, municipal buildings, factories and stores.

HVAC cleaning service providers that are members of NADCA, the National Air Duct Cleaning Association, follow higher standards. Our President, Dan Stradford, serves on the Board of Directors of NADCA, and plays a leading role in setting best practices and technical protocols. Action Duct has been a member of NADCA since 1991. Our NADCA Air Systems Cleaning Specialist certification means we follow the most stringent standards and operate under a strict code of ethics.

Why Is HVAC Cleaning Important?

HVAC systems get dirty. Proper HVAC cleaning is a vital part of HVAC service. It addresses microbial growth, clogged air passages and the dust that accumulates from particles floating in the air, including dirt, flakes of human skin, food allergens, fungi spores and pollutants like vehicle emissions.

In addition to generating substantial savings on utility costs, often amounting to more than the cost of the service, HVAC cleaning can reduce the risk of employee health issues, sick days and workers compensation claims, and mitigate the impact of contaminants and allergens on your building’s occupants.

You may come across offers for HVAC Duct Cleaning or HVAC Vent Cleaning, but it’s vital that all components be cleaned, not just the ducts and vents. Dirty components can recontaminate the whole system. We clean it all from head to toe, so to speak, including the air ducts, coils, drain pan, registers, grills, air plenum, blower motor and assembly, heat exchanger and filter rack.

How Much Does HVAC Cleaning Cost?

Our pricing is based on numerous factors, including the number of registers in your building. Beware of duct cleaning SCAMS! Scammers are well known in the HVAC cleaning industry.

If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is. Some businesses advertise rock-bottom deals and then deliver incomplete service or engage in aggressive upselling, taking the real price tag far above the advertised price.

At Action Duct, our work is thorough and meticulous, and we are completely transparent in our pricing. We provide comprehensive quotes, follow-up reports, and before and after pictures.

How Often Should HVAC Systems Be Cleaned?

About every five years as a general rule of thumb.  But this can vary, depending on HVAC usage and the level of particulate in the air.

In ordinary circumstances, dirt and dust buildup over time reduces the cooling and heating capability of the HVAC system. It literally costs more and more energy over time to get the same results from your system.

Dirt slowly coats the cooling and heating coils, reducing their ability to transfer heating and cooling to the air.  Dust also gradually restricts more and more of the duct interiors and other air passages so the fan has to work harder to push air through.

A cleaning every five years will improve energy performance, extend the life of the

system, and reduce the emission of particles and allergens from the system.

Result: Lower energy bills and better air quality. In some cases, such as industrial settings, high particulate in the air can clog the HVAC system faster, requiring more frequent cleaning, perhaps even annually.
